- The is an original oil painting of abstract shapes and forms inspired by the nature and landscape surrounding Lake Atitlán in Guatemala. The colors are inspired not only by nature, but of the textiles created and sold by the locals who live there. Many of them to still wear traditional Mayan textiles on a daily basis. The artist traveled there in Spring of 2018 and fell with the city of Antigua and surrounding areas. While painting this, the artist was listening to the audio book for Prince of Tides, about a family that lived in the marshy/swampy Low Country area of South Carolina. It also influenced the painting. Therefore, it got the title "Mi Casa Es el Pantano", "My Home is the Swamp".
